Energyomställning
For groups that want a deeper understanding of how energy, infrastructure, economics and social development are connected.
Participants negotiate, prioritise and make decisions about how the energy system should develop — and see how choices affect society, the environment and the future.
This megagame was developed on behalf of the Swedish Energy Agency to increase understanding of how the design and future transformation of the energy system affect society, the environment and the climate.
In the game, the energy system is not only a technical issue. It becomes a matter of local needs, resources, conflicts of interest, politics, economics, climate, environment and people affected by decisions.
Production, distribution, supply and investments.
Municipalities, residents, companies and local conditions.
Land use, climate impact and ecological consequences.
Negotiation, prioritisation and trade-offs between goals.
Deltagarna spelar olika lokala, regionala och nationella roller. Det kan handla om politiska beslutsfattare, företag, energisystemets aktörer eller invånare som påverkas av utvecklingen.
The game is played in rounds spanning three decades into the future, and participants need to solve tasks, collaborate with others and make decisions about how society should transition. Det gör att spelet rör sig från enskilda beslut till långsiktiga konsekvenser.
The result is an intense experience where participants must both protect their own interests and seek shared solutions.
A key point of the megagame format is that participants do not merely receive information about complex systems. They act within them.
When the energy system changes, new dependencies and conflicts of interest arise. An investment can solve one problem while creating another. A local decision can have regional consequences. One group’s success may depend on another group bearing the cost.
The game thus becomes a way to explore collaboration, responsibility and long-term thinking in practice.
